Real estate industry actors and practitioners have been implored to collaborate and partner among themselves in order to ensure that clients’ overriding interests and demands are met satisfactorily.

The Managing Broker and CEO of Chicago-based Centered International Realty Corporation, Mr. Maurice L. Hampton, made this call in an interview with Real Estate Times Africa, adding that it benefits all industry players to be a whole as against a fragment in that market best and bad practices are shared when the former applies.

"Real estate is a team sport and way too often people come in to try to conduct real estate as an individual. When you are a team, a group, you are able to share best practices, current bad practices or fraud that is on the market today.

"It’s a benefit to be a whole versus the fragment. [For instance] You have commercial real estate or industrial real estate and I have land and sea real estates, inevitably one of our clients is going to need the other and so we both can benefit by providing a solid business.

"It doesn’t matter what market you are in the world; fraud is at the pinnacle of real estate. If I have a client who is fraudulent and the FBI calls me, I am definitely reaching out to colleagues to look out for such client,” Maurice noted.

Mr. Hampton believes that creating a network of the real estate industry practitioners is key to building a successful real estate business across the globe.

He concluded by advising professionals in the real estate sector to understand that they are always going to be a flock of change adding that rules and regulations are crucial to ensuring that practitioners practice within and the consumers are not harmed in any way from without.
