The Mainstreet Organization of Realtors CEO Pam Krieter plans to retire on Dec. 31 and will be replaced by Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer Margery Shinners, the Downers Grove-based organization announced Wednesday.
Shinners, 50, has been deputy CEO and chief operating officer of Mainstreet since 2005. Before that, she was technology director from 1996 to 2005 for the Realtors Association of West/South Suburban Chicagoland, which was the previous name of Mainstreet.
As CEO, Krieter, 65, has managed three mergers with five other Realtor associations that have become part of Mainstreet.
Since 1995, when Krieter came to Mainstreet, the organization has grown from 3,600 members to 16,000 members and become the largest local Realtors association in Illinois and the fourth largest in the nation.
“Our leadership succession plan builds on the remarkable successes that MORe has achieved during Pam’s 21-year tenure and fuels our strategy for continuing to assist our association members in rapidly changing times,” said Lynn Madison, president of the MORe board of directors and owner of Lynn Madison Seminars. “Margery has spearheaded MORe’s transition to digital technology across all operations and member services that address today’s on-demand, data-driven world.”
Mainstreet’s region includes more than 200 communities in DuPage, Lake and suburban Cook counties.
