The Chief Executive Officer for the Ghana Real Estate Professional Association (GREPA), Victoria Osei Sampa, has called for collaboration among players in the real estate industry for their collective interest, saying there is more to gain if players eschew unhealthy competition amongst themselves.
According to her, the unfortunate perception that Ghana Real Estate Professional Association GREPA and Ghana Real Estate Development Association GREDA were competitors, militated against efforts by her outfit in the past to bring collaboration between the two sister bodies.
In an exclusive interview with Real Estate Times Africa, the GREPA boss admitted that the services they provide need a high level of collaboration and partnership with GREDA to drive towards complementing each other instead of the reverse.
To achieve this, she encouraged real estate developers to focus on building architecture, planning, and technical aspects of development, while leaving property sales and marketing to GREPA, as they are the experts in that field and are up to date on market demand and supply movements. This, according to her, will benefit both associations and help develop the real estate industry in the country.
“Real estate is all about networking and collaboration. So, if you are a Real Estate Developer and you concentrate on your own developments and you don’t network and form partnerships then you are just known for your little space,” Victoria Sampa said.
